Superintendent's Message

Mrs. Mollenkopf

A Greeting from the Superintendent

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! It continues to be my pleasure to serve as the Superintendent of Crestview Local Schools and to lead the administration, teachers and staff on pathways that enrich and enhance the educational opportunities for our district’s students as 21st century learners. The administration and professional staff continue to strive to lead through the avenues of integrity-driven decision making, investing in our students and modeling strong work ethics, promoting informed citizenship and innovative thinking, and guiding appropriate interpersonal communication skills. All of these attributes define the district’s educational focus, Portrait of a Graduate.

The district website continues to be the primary link for parents and members of the community to access to information through a user-friendly format with direct access to resources related to the district’s academic and athletic event calendars, student registration information, student handbooks and administrative guidelines as well as general district updates that showcase our students’ activities, their talents and abilities, and their accomplishments. The website also includes a link to the district’s Strategic Plan, a document designed as guidance for administrative decision-making for the district over the next five to seven years.

The District Quality Profile will be mailed to district residents by mid-September.  Please take opportunity to look through this publication as it serves a companion document to the district’s Local Report Card published by the Ohio Department of Education. Both the DQP and the LRC are accessible by links on the district website.

Several new employees have joined our Knight family this year: Jennifer Wurster and Elaina Lance, preschool teachers; Lauren Schumm first grade teacher; Kourtney Lichtensteiger, intervention specialist teacher; Michael Joseph, MS math teacher; Ragen Harting, MS intervention specialist teacher; Alec Reder, instrumental music teacher/director of bands; and Emma Pohlman, speech and language pathologist. Support staff includes paraprofessionals Haylie Adkins, Rachel Wells, Zoie Sites, Katie Perkins, Audrey Lichtensteiger, and Natasha Collins. Additional support staff include cooks Becca Speaks and Sue Duncan; custodians Jada Preston and Marsha Mathew; Nathanael Smith, outdoor maintenance/custodial.  Administratively, Mimi Myers is now the high school principal and Brett Latman will serve as Director of Curriculum/Instruction. Beth Scheiner is the transportation administrative assistant/EMIS support.

I am proud of Crestview Local Schools, and the students we serve. Every student deserves a safe environment for learning as well as an education that affords options for choice upon graduation. As a school district and a community, we owe our best to the students of this district. On behalf of the Board of Education, the administrators, teachers, and staff, I invite you to engage in opportunities to support the educational and extra-curricular endeavors of our students. If at any time you have questions or comments, I am happy to talk with you.
