Once again this year the Crestview Student Council has tackled the task of planning homecoming activities for fall 2014. This year’s homecoming theme is “Carnival”. There is a full slate of activities planned beginning Wednesday, October 1st with the Powder Puff game beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Homecoming parade at 7:30 p.m. Admission to the Powder Puff game will be $1. The parade will proceed to Edgewood Park where the evening will end with a bonfire. On Friday afternoon, October 3rd, a pep assembly will be held. Later that night the ceremony will be held at 7:00 p.m. in which the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned. Following the coronation, the Crestview Knight Varsity football team will be playing Delphos Jefferson. The last event of the weekend is the homecoming dance on Saturday, October 4th from 7-10 p.m., in the auditeria for students in grades 9-12. Community members are invited to take place in the events and catch the Crestview spirit. The 14th annual Fricker’s Lady Knight Volleyball Invitational is set for this Saturday, September 27, at Crestview High School in Convoy, Ohio. The field features eight teams who will compete for the title of champion. Matches begin in both gyms at Crestview at 9 a.m. The admission price for the entire day is adults $5 and students $4. No passes are accepted for this invitational tournament.
The teams that are coming include three state-ranked programs in D4 (St. Paul--#7, Crestview--#15, and Marion Local--#17) in the latest Ohio coaches’ poll.
The first matches of the day feature Crestview (11-1) against Celina (5-8) at 9 a.m. in the high school gym and St. Paul (9-2) vs. Ft. Recovery (7-7) in the middle school gym.
The second matches will showcase Marion Local (6-6) versus Ottawa-Glandorf (9-3) in the high school gym. Edison (6-6) will compete against Old Fort (8-6) and complete first round action in the middle school gym.
This is a highly anticipated volleyball invitational in Northwest Ohio. Each team will be participating in three matches and the championship game will be played at approximately 2 p.m. in the high school gym.
