The Crestview High School Art Club will be doing their first Empty Bowls Fundraiser.  This is an unusual fundraiser where members of the community will “donate” $20.00 and receive a handcrafted bowl from the Crestview’s Ceramic classes.  Each bowl was thrown on the pottery wheel and then decorated by the high school and middle school students.  Once the person has hand-picked their very special bowl, they will be able to go into the Auditeria where they will be able to choose a soup dinner with desert and drink.  The money donated for this fundraiser will be benefitting The United Methodist Church Food Pantry of Convoy.  The concept for this particular fundraiser is to bring awareness of meals being missed in our community.  Something as simple as a bowl of soup could help feed a family or more for a day.  This fundraiser also advocates for the Arts Education.  Nurturing the creative process through the Arts enhances the possibility of finding new solutions to old problems.  We would like to invite you to this event Friday, April 10th starting at 5pm and lasting until 7.  Starting at 6:30, various handcrafted items from local artists from surrounding areas will be auctioned to help raise more money for this cause.  If anyone would like to make a special donation for this event, please contact Nicole Kirkpatrick at Crestview High School.
