FFA travels to National Convention

The Crestview FFA chapter recently traveled to the National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis and participated in several events during the five day convention.

First, the Farm Business Management team, comprised of Brett Schumm, Olivia Skelton, Lizzie Bowen and Liliana Dietrich, competed at the national level representing the state of Ohio and finished 30th with a bronze rating.

The 11 current members that attended the convention took part in several tours, attended sessions, talked with colleges, and looked at new machinery. During their downtime, the group was able to attend a “Buckeye Bash” for Ohio chapters and a Garth Brooks concert.

Finally, on Saturday, nine members watched Crestview graduate Joel Germann receive his American Degree. Only 1% of national FFA members earn this prestigious degree. After the degree presentation, the members were able to participate in the closing ceremonies which included an address from the President of the United States.
