News from the Cafeteria
Crestview Food Service operates in accordance with Crestview Board of Education policies and under the USDA Offer vs Serve option. This provision of the school lunch program means that students are offered five food components each day from within the federally-required traditional lunch pattern. Crestview Local Schools offers this to all students in grades 1-12. Students are encouraged to take all items offered within the meal; however, under Offer vs Serve, students in grades 1-12 need only take a minimum of three of the five food components of which one must be a fruit or vegetable component. Offer vs Serve allows students to refuse a food item they do not like, encourages freedom of choice and helps to eliminate waste. PreK and Kindergarten students follow the traditional lunch pattern which means that they are served all five components.
Please note: Parents/Guardians are encouraged to complete the 2024-2025 Free and Reduced- Price School Meals Application in Final Forms for possible eligibility of reduced or free meals through the federal program. Only one application needs to be submitted per household.
