It has been a busy start to the school year. Many teachers have been involved in countless professional development hours and are still working on deconstructing their academic standards. Some teachers are moving towards tracking student progress through the learning targets.
The PRIDE Committee, which is a leadership team for teachers, has been restructured as the District Design Team. This team is comprised of five different sub committees. They are the following: Climate and Culture, Professional Learning, Parent and Community Involvement, Curriculum and Instruction, and Social, Emotional, and Safety. This team will meet six times throughout the school year. The team is currently working on making sure Crestview is meeting the needs of all students and preparing them for a future of their choice.
Part of the District Design Team, is a group of teachers and administration that will travel to Columbus five times throughout the year. This group is part of the SOAR Network that collaborates with other schools to improve learning. During these meetings, the team will be trying to plan a framework that consist of 21st century learning experiences for all students.
Not only have teachers had many learning opportunities, but students have been engaged in the classrooms as well. Third Grade students took the ELA AIR test at the end of October. Results will be back to the school in mid-December. High School students will be taking EOC retakes at the beginning of December.
