Dear Crestview Middle School parent,
The month of May is here and everyone is busy as ever in the classroom and with several end-of-year events!
Our students gave an outstanding effort on the Ohio Academic Achievement tests the week of April 23. Thank you for all of your effort in assisting in putting our children in a position to succeed. We will get the results of the tests in mid-June. The tests were very challenging and again, we were pleased with the effort of the kids.
Tomorrow, the eighth grade will be traveling to Finance Park for Junior Achievement. This event is the culmination of the class’s study of business procedures and operations.
Our eighth graders will then be heading to D.C. Sunday evening. This trip is simply a great opportunity to have our eighth graders gain a greater sense and respect for who we are as a nation. We have had outstanding success with how our children have represented themselves, their families, and Crestview. I see this year as no exception. Thank you to Mr. Pugh who oversees the implementation of the trip and to Mrs. Deanna Ray and Mr. Mike Bowen who will serve as school liaisons on the trip this year. History will come alive for the kids!
On Monday, May 21, we will have our middle school academic awards assembly. We will have the assembly during the school day. Students will be recognized in front of all of their peers for their classroom effort.
Our middle school spring concert will be on Tuesday, May 22 @ 7:30 p.m.
Middle school Fun Day sponsored by the student council is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23.
Relay for Life will be on Friday, May 25. This event is also sponsored by the student council.
Semester exams for the middle school will commence on Friday, June 1.
The last day for students will be Tuesday, June 5.
I am very proud of the students and staff of Crestview Middle School. The transition to the middle school concept has been very smooth. We look forward to a strong finish to the school year.
Have a great summer!
