18. Good luck to our spelling bee contestants at the county bee tonight:  Tayla Myers, Wesyn Ludwig, and Ally Dingus.  Go Knights!

The Crestview Local Schools Board of Education announced Monday evening that they have selected Kathy Mollenkopf, current Crestview Elementary Principal, as the next Superintendent for the district.
Mollenkopf will begin her new post August 1, 2018, as the district’s Superintendent. This coming May will mark her 18th year as principal of the elementary after serving as a teacher for 11 years and two years as Dean of Students/Transportation Director. Mollenkopf will succeed Mike Estes who announced his retirement earlier this school year and will conclude his tenure on July 31, 2018.
The hiring of Mollenkopf was the culmination of a search by the district which included input from the community, students, faculty and staff. After a community survey was administered, the Board narrowed its search and included interview teams of community members, teachers and administrators in addition to the Crestview Board of Education.
Mollenkopf stated, “I am thrilled and humbled to have been selected as the new Superintendent for Crestview.  I love this school district, and I am grateful for this God-given opportunity.  My husband, Randy, and I live in this community, we raised our children in this community, and we support the educational and extra-curricular endeavors of the students in this district.  I welcome the opportunity to partner collaboratively with our district’s stakeholders – students, parents, staff, teachers, building and district administrators, members of the Board of Education, and community members to foster our strengths and tackle the challenges that present themselves.  This school district has talented, vested teachers and administrators as well as staff members who want to equip our students with the necessary knowledge and skills they will need to be contributing 21st century citizens, and I am excited to have the opportunity to serve as the educational leader.  This is an exciting time to be a Crestview Knight!”  read more...
