Mrs. Tammy Campbell from the Van Wert Soil and Water Conservation Department came to Crestview Elementary and presented to Mrs. Schumm, Mrs. Waltz and Mrs. Jones’ 3rd grade classrooms. This month’s feature presentation was the Tremendous Trees. Mrs. Campbell taught the students the importance of trees and why we need to preserve trees. She brought in tree cookies for the students to look at. They were able to count the rings to determine the ages of various trees. She also described how trees were similar to us because they too need water, food and rest. She helped the students identify the four must haves in order for trees to reproduce and finished up the presentation with a game that showed them that not all seeds will become trees. Pictured are Mrs. Campbell and the third graders, as they participate in a question and answer session.
