The Crestview 7th grade boys' basketball team completed an undefeated season by winning the McDonald's tournament held at Crestview. In the tournament finals, they defeated Bluffton 45-17 to finish their season at 18-0. Members of the 7th grade team include (front row, L-R) Drew Kline, Colton Lautzenheiser, Derick Dealey, Kole Small, Jordan Perrott and Josh Gibson, (back row, L-R) Micah Snyder, Javin Etzler, Brant Richardson, Austin Sheets, Wade Sheets, Landin Burch, and Coach Dan Miller. Not pictured are assistant coaches Frank Minnig and Ray Etzler. The 7th grade team wishes to thank everyone who came out and supported them throughout the season.
The Crestview Lady Knights ran their conference winning streak to 17 games and earned their second consecutive Northwest Conference Championship by defeating Bluffton 49-26 Thursday. Crestview held the Lady Pirates to just 27 percent shooting while shooting a respectable 45 percent. The Lady Knights dominated the boards grabbing 30 rebounds and holding Bluffton to just 14. Crestview’s balanced scoring was led by Kennis Mercer’s 11 points while Emily Bauer and Lindsey Motycka added 9 and 8 points each. Crestview’s seniors Courtney Grote and Kirstin Hicks were victorious in their last home game at Ray Etzler Gymnasium as restview wrapped up the regular season with a 20-1 record. Crestview will play in sectional championship at Van Wert on Saturday, February 22nd at 6:15 versus the winner of Delphos St. John’s and Lincolnview.
The Lady Knight junior varsity team was defeated by Bluffton 40-37. They finished the season with a 14-6 record.
